- Hammocks are a comfortable, easy-to-store item

- They are a colorful handicraft for indoor and outdoor decoration
Origin of the Hammock
The hammock is one of the oldest and most popular resting instruments in the Mayan region.
It is originated in Central American Caribbean countries, where it was widespread and represented the main piece of furniture in people’s homes.
Hundreds of years ago it arrived in the Yucatan Peninsula through Caribbean cultural expansion.
Hammocks are hand-made by local artisans weaving threads in the form of a net to make the body which hangs from two arms or extensions of unweaved threads.
Each arm ends in a wrist.
Types of Hammocks
The art of making hammock was improved in Yucatan by diversifying materials, forms and weaving patterns.
In addition to the cloth hammocks with and without a spreader bar made of cotton or weatherproof material for outdoor use, there are also net hammocks.
Hanging chairs are distinguished as well by the material: cloth hanging chairs and hanging chairs made of fine mesh material.
We from
MI PATIO love mexican net hammocks: The special woven technique produces a hammock that shapes and adjusts to the person using the hammock, are nice and cool in summer and wonderfully cozy in winter.
Assembling your Hammock
Avoid tangling the threads when unpacking to avoid damaging the weave.
Fix your Hammock to two anchor points with at least 1,80 mts of hight and enough support up to 300 Kg.
Hammocks can be used inside rooms, on porches, at yards, terraces, at the beach or in the country.
Here some examples for fixture:
Mounting Dimensions
Minimum height to the ground 0.5 m when used and approx. 1.8 m for anchoring, depending on the lenght of the hammock and the distance of the fixing points.
Our hammocks are between 390 and 420 cm long handle to handle depending on the model. The distance between the two fixing points should be at least 360 cm.
You can easily compensate for distances that exceed the recommended size with our supplied fixing ropes. However, if the distance is shorter than recommended, the lying position is no longer optimal.
